The Child Friendly Village Planning (CFVP) is a Unicef supported initiative. It is an innovative process to achieve Millennium Development Goals for children and women. The programme has been implemented by two nodal NGOs, MYRADA and IVDP in eight blocks. CFVP process has involves the community in a five day intensive participatory exercise using the “assessment, analysis and action” technique. 

The local communities are assisted to assess and analyse the current situation with regard to health, nutrition, education, water and sanitation, child protection and HIV/AIDS awareness. They discuss and prepare the action plans based on the survey findings that improve quality of their lives. All Unicef supported programmes in the areas of RCH, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, Child Development, Education, Water and Sanitation and Child protection are converged in this district.
